NoteVault
Study, notes and personal management in one desktop app. Your data is plain files you own.
NoteVault brings together what you normally spread across several apps: Markdown notes, tasks, calendar, habits, goals, projects, finances, exercise, nutrition and a Mentor that builds and follows your study plan. Everything lives in a folder on your disk (the vault), in files you can open with any editor.

Principles
- Local first. No account, no server, no proprietary database. The app sends no telemetry.
- Open files. Markdown with YAML frontmatter and JSON. The format is documented and is the same one the mobile client reads. You can use the same folder with Obsidian. See the vault.
- AI is optional. It works without AI. If you want it, you choose the provider: an API, a local model (Ollama, LM Studio) or a prompt you paste into the tool you prefer. See AI.
- Open source. GPL-3.0 license. You can read it, modify it and improve it. See license.

Who we are and how to support us
NoteVault is built by Lessteps, a team of students with no funding or financial backing. “NoteVault” is a provisional name for the product; the company behind it is Lessteps. If the project is useful to you, any help lets us keep developing it: how to support.
